Better Breeding.
Dilano Bulldogs was started by Louis over eight years ago with his first bulldog, Tolla. Louis’ main aim is to create a breed with a very large head and a shorter, robust body. A true breeder must have a clear understanding of the breed, know the history of the breed and must always consider line breeding, as it is known to produce the best results. After some time, a breeder must consider outcrossing, but must take special care when doing so. A breeding program must be followed in order to improve the breed.

Our Philosophy.
Louis and his breeding partner, Pieter du Toit, share the vision of building one of the most successful kennels in South Africa with the highest quality pedigree. Breeding bulldogs is not something to embark on lightly. Success as a breeder can take many years of experience. Dilano Bulldogs do not breed for the money, but for the love of the breed.

Our Pedigree.
The strength of a kennel lies in its bitches, and Louis has carefully selected his foundation bitches from recognised breeders. He is constantly in the process of learning and is confident that he’ll create a strong foundation for Dilano Bulldogs in time to come.

Louis is a proud member of the Cape Bulldog Club and his biggest win to date was qualifying for the Western Province Top Dog Competition. Other achievements include: Best Head winner at the Cape Bulldog Clubs Champion Show, Best of Breed, Best Junior and Best SA Bred. Louis’ children have also each won junior handler competitions at various shows. Currently his kennel includes two beautiful boys (Spencer and Diesel) and eight gorgeous girls (Oprah, Mia, Lilly, Maggie, Houston, Mimi, Rose and Heidi).
